Aitken Drumming Up Support

Latest word on the slow race to become PO is that Glasgow Tory MSP Bill Aitken is emerging as a potential candidate who would be acceptable to all.

As a JP, he's spent a lifetime sitting up on high, issuing fines to assorted unfortunates for breaching the peace and peeing in the street. He'll be just the man for the job, then!

The best you have heard is that it is going to be Bill Aitken?!?

I've heard a few names, same as everyone else. This was merely the latest one...

Any thoughts yourself that you might be prepared to share?

Alex Fergusson is the Tory that is going forward for it. I very much believe he will get cross party backing as well.

I think you're right, since no-one seems to have a bad word to say about him. Still reckon Annabell Goldie would have made sense for a whole range of reasons, but you can't force someone to do a job they don't want to do.
