In the end, it was clinical and decisive show of attacking power, which saw the challenger sent home with their tail between their legs and left the home fans cheering for more.
I refer, of course, to Aberdeen's 4-0 victory over FC Copenhagen, which sees them in the latter stages of a European competition for the first time in over 20 years.
A "Happy Christmas" to one and all, then!
UPDATE: Highlights of the game are now available here.

Yep, quite simply a stonking result.
And what a mighty big present you get in your stocking as a result.
Bayern Munich. Good luck!
Time to start loop playing on the team bus the DVD of how their predecessors put Bayern out of the Cup-Winners Cup Quarter Finals back in 1983. Aberdeen didn't so so badly against Hertha Berlin a few seasons ago, and as the great Fergie is reported to have said to his players at the time; 'You're playing Bayern Munich the team, not Bayern Munich the legend'.
A little bit of faith in your own abilities never hurt anyone. Another 0-0 in the Olympic Stadium, followed by a pulsating 3-2 win at home would do very nicely :-)
Except we're at home first.

Erm, except that Bayern München now play at the Allianz Arena! :)
Got two spare tickets for the game booked (Bayern end) if you fancy the trip Mr T. Me and Mrs D are booked up to fly out on the Wednesday (20th Feb) and back on the Friday.
Likewise yourself Mark if Mrs McD will let you away! ;)

Thanks for the kind offer Mr Dow, but I don't have the cash to get to Munchen so I'm afraid I will have to pass and view the game from the comfort of my own home.
Dunno if you got my text, Ewan, but I'll gladly take up your kind offer if it still stands.
